At CBI Workplace Solutions, we pride ourselves on fostering creativity while being practical when helping our clients reach their goals and ideal work environments. That said, we are thrilled to share the successful completion of an exciting project at High Point University. The project involved the Panther Commons, a multi-use building that optimizes collaboration, innovation, and community support. We partnered with High Point University, Barbour Spangle Design (BSD), and Samet Construction, leaving our end result to be a vibrant space that serves as student housing and includes a range of amenities such as restaurants, a gym, a barbershop, a nail salon, and multiple open collaboration and meeting spaces.
A Center of Activity and Community
This building is a dynamic center point that features diverse indoor and outdoor spaces, from the full hibachi restaurant Kazoku to beautifully landscaped outdoor spaces with a pool, fire pits, water fountains, and patio areas designed and executed by the Budd Group. High Point University provided invaluable support and clarity onsite, which helped to ensure smooth progress throughout the project.
Collaboration and Design
Barbour Spangle Design played a crucial role in the front-end design, guiding us through the process and conducting progressive walkthroughs during the installation phase, along with being responsible for the specification of the furniture and textiles as well. Their design intent, and vision were brought to life, showcasing their stunning and unique work. Samet Construction provided essential support, along with electrical work, and facilitated access when needed.
We are also proud to have supportive local manufacturers who furnished various areas of the building. The concierge features a custom reception desk from Darran in High Point, while the den, lobby, and living room include furniture from Level 4 Designs, Davis tables, Phillips Collection, Carolina Custom Booth, and Marquis.
Attention to Detail
It was a priority to ensure the correct application of beautiful textiles and multi-fabric seating with contrasting welts and trims. The result is a stunning array of furniture that enhances the aesthetic and functional appeal of the new and multi-faceted building. We are honored to have played a part in this impressive project, contributing to a space that supports and uplifts the HPU community.
Reflecting and Planning for the Future
Reflecting on this project, the vibrant and innovative environment within the Panther Commons building of HPU fosters motivation and provides opportunities for students that support learning, collaboration, and community.
Thank you to HPU, BSD, Samet Construction, and our local partners for their dedication and collaboration. Together, we have created a space that truly embodies the spirit of High Point University.
