CBI Workplace Solutions and Honeywell recently partnered together to provide face masks to the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Department (CMPD). CBI has been a supporter of the CMPD for several years, and CBI’s Chief Strategy Officer, David Dooley, is currently the Board Chair of the Charlotte Mecklenburg Police Foundation.
Honeywell is a leading innovator in the areas of aerospace, building technologies, performance materials and technologies, safety and productivity solutions. Honeywell has played a substantial role in procuring face masks to protect against COVID-19 since early on in the pandemic, and when they realized they had more product on hand than needed, the company decided to donate their remaining masks to an organization that could put them to good use. The CMPD was happy to take the masks from Honeywell, however, they did not have enough space to store them at the CMPD headquarters. This is when David Dooley stepped in and connected Honeywell and CBI offering warehouse space at CBI for mask storage. CBI Associates coordinated with Honeywell and the CMPD to ensure successful delivery of the extra masks in quantities that the CMPD could handle. There are more than 22 cases of masks warehoused at CBI, and as they gradually move to CMPD headquarters the masks will be used by local officers and given out to individuals in the community who don’t have access or might be running low on clean facemasks.
“CMPD is proud to partner with, CBI Workplace Solutions, Honeywell, and the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation to provide nearly 40,000 critical masks to community organizations that need them the most to stay safe and healthy,” said CMPD Chief Johnny Jennings. “This is a fantastic act of generosity at a time when our community really needs it the most.”
David Dooley, Board Chair of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Foundation says, “We know there will be a need for face masks in our community for some time, and the Police Foundation is thankful for Honeywell’s generous donation and for the outpouring of support from our partners like CBI Workplace Solutions in assisting us with getting them distributed into the community. There is nothing more important than keeping those who protect our community safe. Front line workers are incredible service leaders, and it takes a village to help us ensure safety and health for our officers.”
The first drop of masks to the CMPD will take place on February 15, and CBI is honored to play a role in housing and distributing this important PPE to ensure the health and safety of Charlotte’s local police officers and our local community.
