HIGHLIGHT 02
One of the things that most excites me about Herman Miller and Knoll merging to become MillerKnoll is the variety of opportunities it creates for our clients and their spaces. Both Herman Miller and Knoll are historically known for their modern design, clean lines, and functional products. The similarities in thinking early on and the competitive nature the two companies worked against for so many years has contributed to MillerKnoll now being able to offer the most exclusive and state-of-the-art collective of brands that you will find in our industry.
Herman Miller was founded in 1905 in Zeeland, MI in the beginning of the 20th century while Knoll was founded 33 years later in New York, NY. Both companies embraced modernism as a foundational value and enlisted now famous designers to develop beautiful solutions for the home and office.
For Herman Miller designers like George Nelson, Alexander Girard, Charles and Ray Eames, Isamu Noguchi, Laura Guido-Clark, and more brought forward iconic and practical designs like the Marshmallow Chair, the Eames Lounge Chair, the Noguchi Table and stunning fabrics and textiles. At Knoll, designers like Florence Knoll, Eero Saarinen, Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Harry Bertoia, Masamichi Udagawa, Sigi Moeslinger and others introduced stunning designs to the market including the Womb Chair, Barcelona Chair, the Tulip Table, the Antenna Design System and more.
Modern design has remained resilient today and MillerKnoll redefines modernism for the 21st century. While our clients still have access to the classics, CBI is thrilled to offer solutions for the future via the MillerKnoll collective of brands. Offering solutions for all types of environments, CBI partners with our clients to evaluate organizational goals and create workplaces that engage, create positive impacts, and support business objectives with regularity.
The combination of Herman Miller’s problem-solving designs and Knoll’s modern aesthetic allows CBI and MillerKnoll to draw on the combined strength of our people, values, and expertise, to design the world we live in and positively impact people, process, and the workplace.
